Macromedia Flash MX 2004

Macromedia has finally released info on Flash MX 2004 (and the rest of the MX line, but I don't use any of their products at all).

My favorite new features/improvements:

  • Spell Checking and Search/Replace
  • PDF and EPS File Support
  • History Panel and Commands (like Photoshop)
  • CSS Style Sheets (my #1 problem with Flash now)
  • Improved Runtime Performance
  • Forms-based development (meaning no timelines if you don't need them)
  • Source Code Control
  • External ActionScript File Editing
  • Slides (buh-bye PowerPoint, at least for me)
  • Data Connector Components
  • Data Binding
  • Device Player Emulators (not that I have need for this now, but hopefully one day...)
