Yesterday,
I had to wonder if AOL's 'unknown problem' that kept me off of MSN/Passport/BetaPlace/etc for over 30 hours was more than just an accident, since it was confined to their biggest competitor's sites only and had to cause an increase in AIM usage (because up to 2/3 of RoadRunner and AOL customers couldn't access passport to sign in to MSN/Windows Messenger). It looks like I may have been on the money.
Regardless of who is to blame, the problems between AOL and Microsoft originated behind the scenes, according to sources familiar with the problem.
One source close to Microsoft who asked to remain anonymous said the lockout stemmed from changes in a bandwidth "peering" agreement between America Online and Microsoft.

I have a good record of every outage I've had since the beginning of August, I'm calling and getting some credit on my account tomorrow, this is unacceptable.
