Yesterday I started getting the “your reader is hitting us too often, don't bother coming back for 72 hours” messages from Slashdot yesterday but I was almost certain it was a mistake on their part because SharpReader had been sitting unattended for a day or so and it only polls Slashdot once per hour, far below their limit.
Today I see that Michael Slater is having the same problems. Anyone else seeing the same thing this weekend? Not that it really matters, slashdot is still in my “news” Read More...

Scoble pointed out this brilliant example of what looks like either [at best] absolute incompetent mathematical or brilliant twisting of numbers in the age-old con artist tradition:

If you stop and think about it, most people are going to own their PCs for four years. So do we offer $12 a year of value where you can run tremendously more applications, it's tremendously easier t Read More...

You are not forced to use IE in Longhorn, which is good. This release is mostly a sandbox for developers to play in so I assume that most will use IE predominantly in order to play with/test/write XAML, etc, but if you actually want to use the internet, I would avoid that bug-ridden browser MS is still pushing along (imagine 10 guys pushing a car with no front tires through the desert. Now ask them why they don't use the jack and spare tire in the back seat. That is how I would sum up MS and Read More...
