Slashdot Having RSS Timing Problems?

Yesterday I started getting the “your reader is hitting us too often, don't bother coming back for 72 hours” messages from Slashdot yesterday but I was almost certain it was  a mistake on their part because SharpReader had been sitting unattended for a day or so and it only polls Slashdot once per hour, far below their limit.

Today I see that Michael Slater is having the same problems.  Anyone else seeing the same thing this weekend?  Not that it really matters, slashdot is still in my “news” folder in Firebird (my favorite Firebird feature is “open folder of links in tabs”) so I see their bloated, badly-coded HTML site often enough anyway.

I saw the same problem this weekend so it seems to be an issue with their site.

Yeah, I had the problem too. I ended up unsubscribing from all of my Slashdot feeds, since I visit their site often enough that the feeds are of limited use to me.
