Apple once said that 1984 wasn't going to be like 1984 but 1984 was 20 years ago. Oh how times have changed. Brian Flemming uses 2 Super Bowl commercials released a generation apart to show how Apple has turned from fighting Big Brother into being Big Brother. Another thing to notice is that Brian has an older, probably original version of the 1984 commercial, not the one that Apple has on their site. The new version of the 1984 commercial (which is not labeled as “new and improved” or “altered for your viewing pleasure” as far as I can tell) has the addition of an iPod on the running girl. Maybe we should call the new, improved version Exhibit C.
