The ieview "View this page in IE"/"Open link target in IE" extension is my favorite addition to Firefox. so many sites are written too badly to be displayed in any browser other than IE (and so many others are take advantage of IE-only tags and functions), I couldn't browse without that extension. IE's shortcomings go beyond the rendering, though, so I have been using MyIE2 for a little over 2 years to overcome those problems [Opera and Netscape had tabbed browsing back then but the tabs were the best things about the browsers, most everything else was pretty weak]. MyIE2 is now Maxthon (which rolls off the tongue better but makes less sense). I decided to see if I could make Maxthon open from Firefox instead of IE and not only is is possible, it's extrememly easy. Gotta love that.
If you're using Firefox, Maxthon and ieview, you can make your life a bit easier by simply clicking ieview in Firefox's Tools>Extentions dialog and entering (or browsing to) the location of Maxthon (Program Files\Maxthon\Maxthon.exe here). Now you can rightclick and open the current page or a linky linky in Maxthon instead of IE.
