Although the new
.NET Show claims to be about Smart Clients, it is mostly about Office applications. The first half does discuss Smart Clients but too much of the discussion revolves around the new Office functionality and extensibility ("Visual Studio Tools for Office"). The 2nd half of the show (i.e. the good stuff) is a demo of WinForms 2 (almost exactly the same as this
Channel 9 Stegman video) and an Excel/VS.NET ("Visual Studio Tools for Office") demo. Nothing about Smart Clients at all, unless I missed it.
I don't mind Office at all, I have done quite a bit of VBA work in the last few years. I was looking forward to the show but was quite disappointed. They should have given Visual Studio Tools for Office an episode and Smart Clients a full episode.
