Dave coined a phrase for something that already exists:
Creative Commons Licenses. These licenses are legal, specific, well-thought out and don't use any words that Apple will later sue over (I think "podcast" is about as silly as calling the back seat in your car the "Model T Backseat" or a "fordseat").
Wired Magazine's latest issue included a star-studded CD with music licensed under either the "Sampling Plus" license (noncommercial sharing and commercial sampling, but restricted advertising uses) or the "Noncommercial Sampling Plus" license (noncommerical sharing and noncommercial sampling). If you make music you want to share or you are looking for music you can use legally, you should be thinking
Creative Commons, not thinking up a new pun.
