Looking over the list of New Features in Copernic Desktop Search, I have to say that the best desktop search product is about to get even better.

Unfortunately, a lack of creative marketing means they will follow Opencola into the void.

Unfortunately, I somewhat agree with you. Their lack of great marketing is compounded by the fact that anything Google or MS does is considered news. Without a penny of marketing, MS and Google get more free press from nerd news sources than Copernic could afford.

Plus Google can give themselves free ad space right the front page of Google.com, that can't hurt.

Anyone taking on Google or MS have their work cut out for them. Trying to fight those 2 companies in a new market that normal people (and a large percentage of geeks) don't care about enough to try may be near impossible. I'm willing to be that a huge percentage of people who tried Google Desktop Search were first time Desktop Search users. Especially those who thought it was a great product, they obviously never tried X1, Copernic or the other products that excel in that area.
